Dryer Balls

Wool or plastic balls used in dryer to soften fabric, reduce drying time, and replace dryer sheets.

Dryer balls are reusable balls (wool or plastic) added to the tumble dryer to soften fabrics, reduce drying time, and replace fabric softener or dryer sheets.

Types

Wool dryer balls: Natural wool felted into balls. Absorb moisture, soften naturally. Last 1,000+ loads.

Plastic dryer balls: Spiked plastic balls. Create separation, no moisture absorption. Essentially permanent.

How They Work

  • Separation: Balls bounce between items, preventing clumping
  • Airflow: Separation increases air circulation
  • Physical softening: Impact helps fluff fibres
  • Wool absorbency: Wool balls absorb and release moisture

Benefits

  • No chemicals on towels
  • Reduce drying time (10-25%)
  • Reusable (eco-friendly)
  • No absorbency reduction
  • Save money long-term

For Towels

Dryer balls help towels by:

  • Fluffing pile
  • Reducing drying time
  • Softening without residue
  • Preventing clumping

Optional: Essential Oils

Add drops of essential oil to wool balls for scent. Not recommended for towels (oil can affect absorbency).
