Vinegar

White vinegar softens towels naturally, removes residue, and eliminates odours. Add 1/2 cup to rinse cycle.

White vinegar (distilled vinegar) is a natural laundry additive that softens towels, removes residue, and eliminates odours without damaging absorbency.

How to Use

Add 1/2 cup (120ml) white vinegar to the rinse cycle (fabric softener dispenser). Don't use with bleach in the same cycle.

Benefits

Softens without coating: Unlike fabric softener, vinegar doesn't leave residue that reduces absorbency.

Removes buildup: Dissolves detergent and hard water deposits.

Eliminates odours: Neutralises musty smells.

Brightens colours: Mild acid helps maintain vibrancy.

Natural: No synthetic chemicals.

Smell Concerns

Vinegar smell does NOT remain on towels after drying. The acetic acid evaporates completely.

How It Works

Vinegar is mildly acidic:

  • Neutralises alkaline detergent residue
  • Dissolves mineral deposits
  • Breaks down fabric softener buildup
  • Kills some bacteria
