Baby Towels

Baby towels are designed specifically for infants, prioritising softness, safety, and warmth for delicate skin.

Why Special Towels for Babies?

Temperature Regulation

Babies lose heat quickly through their heads. Hooded towels help maintain body temperature after bath.

Sensitive Skin

Baby skin is delicate and more reactive. Softer materials and chemical-free options reduce irritation.

Size

Adult towels are unwieldy for tiny bodies. Baby-sized towels are easier to manage.

Safety

Properly designed baby towels avoid hazards while keeping baby secure.

What to Look For

Softness: Feel before buying. Stiff towels irritate baby skin.

Size: 75x75cm or larger to properly wrap baby.

Absorbency: Should effectively dry, not just push water around.

Hood design: Well-constructed, not flimsy.

Safety: No loose parts, buttons, or decorations baby could pull off.

Certifications: OEKO-TEX or GOTS certification ensures no harmful chemicals.

How Many Baby Towels?

Recommended minimum:

  • 3-4 hooded towels
  • 2-3 small face cloths

Babies go through towels quickly - frequent washing means having backups.

Care Instructions

  • Wash before first use (remove factory finishes)
  • Use fragrance-free, baby-safe detergent
  • No fabric softener
  • Tumble dry low or line dry
  • Replace when rough or worn

When to Transition

Around 1-2 years, children can transition to:

  • Larger hooded towels
  • Eventually standard towels

Some kids prefer hooded towels for years - no rush to change.
